Step 1

Whenever we draw these bubble letters, we often use a pencil to plan them out first. This schedule will never be seen; you can make the form more accurate. You only need to draw a P using your preferred writing style. This is also a great way to plan how big it will be on the page. You can try drawing it without this focus, but it can be a great way to create it easier. It’s up to you, but we’re ready to go either way.

The letter P has a spine in the form of a column on the left side. This is what we’ll start with, and we’ll start with a curved vertical line. Step 2

Step 2 will be very easy, and we will add it to the line you drew in the previous step. In that step, we draw the side of the column to the left of the letter. In this double step, we will draw the ground of this column. Fold it in and then up from where the previous line ended.

Step 3

Now there’s a big gap to the right side of the letter P of the bubble, and we’ll fill it in in this step. As you can visit in the contact image, this will be done with a single curved line. This is one of the longer lines in this design, so it can be difficult if you take your time. You can start from the top or bottom of the remaining space.

When you’ve chosen where to start, keep your hand as steady as possible while adding the round line we show in the respective image. Make it as rounded as likely to give it that bubble effect. When it’s drawn, you’re done with the outer shape. If you drew a guideline in pencil to help you, it’s a good idea to erase it now, as you won’t need it, and it will be more difficult to draw the internal details.

Step 4

Now that the shape of the letter P is drawn, we will draw the inner design. This inner part is usually more circular in a regular letter P, but we’ll take a different approach. Our goal is to make this P look like it’s made of a bubble, so we’ll shape the hole in the center. To better accommodate this aspect. Step 5

This part of our guide will expand your completed schematic by adding interior details. The card is already starting to look like a bubble, but these details will help make it look even more like one. First, we’ll add a small detail to make it look even more like a balloon. This will come in the shape of a small oval. We placed this on the top left of the card, but you can place it anywhere else on the card you’d like. This small oval will make it appear as if a light is reflecting off the surface of the type, making it look less flat on the page.

Next, we’ll add some lines along the inner contours of the letter P. This will help make the letter look even less flat and more like a rounded object with depth. You can repeat how we did it on our reference picture, but you can also place these lines in different places. Before proceeding, be sure to add any other details you’d like! These could go inside the outlines as small patterns or shapes inside the larger ones. Or you could draw a background and add other letters next to it! Whatever you select, we can move on to the absolute step when you’re done.

Step 6

Now it’s time to finish your drawing with some color! This step has a lot of room for you to play around and be creative. For now, we’ll stick to the color scheme we chose for our example. We chose the color pink since it starts with P! The colors are darkest at the bottom of the letter and lighten closer to the point of light that we drew earlier. Varying the tones can help this letter look like it’s made of a bubble or balloon.

Pink would be a great color for this letter, but you can use any color you want! You could even stick with the P theme and use purple instead, but any color you like would look amazing. You can also find ways to use multiple colors for the drawing by adding a pattern within the letter. Another way to get great color variation is to use fun art tools, mediums, and crafts.
